Is this the end or a new beginning?
Facebook has seized a golden opportunity to move away from their current platform. It is suggested that Facebook is now focusing on building a metaverse brand, and will be unveiling their new name soon.
This is a huge shift for the business and falls in line with their recent investments in virtual and augmented reality, such as developing it’s Oculus VR headsets and AR glasses.
So what do you think? Is Facebook onto a goldmine or do you think the metaverse will alienate their biggest user demographic?

Email Marketers: How You Can Beat The IOS 15 Update
Do you remember as a kid when you did something that your parents didn’t approve of, got grounded for it and after that your parents just went a little bit too far to protect you from it so instead of making things better it made things worse?
Yeah, marketers are kind of going through that ordeal with Apple.
Privacy protection is very important, the last thing you want is your info roaming about freely on the web, but email marketing professionals believe Apple took privacy protection a little too far with the new IOS 15 update.
This is making it difficult to track email which in turn, compromising the data marketers see. And we all know data is very important in determining what content is right for your audience. Without key metrics, how can marketers determine if their emails are effective or not? On a podcast with Chase Diamond, Jimmy Kim for Sendlane expressed that email marketers can work around that by working with ESPS that count the 2nd open from IOS devices instead of the first one. The technique used here is the same that is used by ESPS to bypass bots.
Here is how the second open rates worked in the case for bots:
First open – second open
Bot – Human
Now in the case of IOS:
First open – second open
Apple – human (Hopefully)
Jimmy went on to share some tips and best practices that email marketers need to adopt to make their email marketing campaigns more effective, just in case other platforms go down the same lane as Apple, which from the look of things, will most likely happen.
1. Clean out your subscriber list.
Most people are on your email list but are most likely not interested in your email. Clean them out. There is no need to keep sending email to someone if they are no longer interested in hearing from you.
2. Segmentation:
Ophir, from our community cannot stress this enough. Segment your audiences and send the right emails to the right audiences.
3. A/B Testing:
Not only for open rates but also for CTA clicks and conversions. You can even A/B test on which email leads to more money in your pocket.
Jimmy’s closing remarks:
Now more than ever, there are calls for agencies and businesses to have specialised email teams. Email works if you put enough love into it. The one man marketer approach may work (heavy on the “may”) for small businesses, but for mid size to big businesses, you need a strong email marketing team to make the best of the capabilities of email.

This Content Strategy Will Help You Rank On The First Page Of Google
“I can’t breathe.”
Imagine being drowned out by your competitor because they are posting daily content which ranks on the first page of Google.
Out of frustration, you started to search on Google and get some of the generic advice from everyone that you already applied.
So, what are you going to do now?
I’m glad your asking.
You’re about to discover an alternative way to improve your change to make your social media presence show up on the #1 page of Google.
Grab some popcorn and get ready.
Back in 2007, Facebook allowed Google and other search engines to crawl some of its pages. As a result, when users perform searches, those pages on facebook will appear on SERPs.
So make sure to put your targeting keywords from your content in your about section and Facebook posts.
Top tip: Don’t overdo it as this considered as “keyword stuffing” and will lower your ranking.
On the other hand, as you may already know by now: LinkedIn is the best place for you to generate B2B leads for your business.
It’s no wonder LinkedIn is the content marketing hub when 90% of marketers use the platform for lead gen.
Using LinkedIn for SEO is ideal because the site will help you get found on search results.
All you have to do is add relevant keywords to your profile and post strategically using keywords which apply to the goals you want to accomplish. This will help search algorithms push you to the top of SERPs.
Pushing content on social media will generate more engagement and create vital signals which Google and other search engines use to make your website rank.
